Try These Bold 2019 Colors of the Year

3Rs Explores the 2019 Colors of the Year
This year's selected colors of the year are bold. Not because they are bright and engaging, but because they are darker and subdued. In many ways, they have a neutral quality that enables them to be easily paired with other colors.

Living Coral
This color from the orange family is the most vibrant of all the colors this year. Pantone suggests that this coral will be great for graphics, promotional materials, and decor. If it's too bold for you as a paint color, try selecting a lighter version in the same hue. It could be a great color for painting a new baby's room!

Metropolitan
Benjamin Moore has this great grey called Metropolitan that will definitely go with everything. It is classy, versatile, and trendy all at the same time. As you can see, it actually goes great with Living Coral! Grey has been a popular color for kitchen cabinets. If you're planning a kitchen remodel this year, consider painting just the lower cabinets Metropolitan and the uppers white. Of course, it would also make a great color for a family room or den too!

Night Watch
This dark, rich color of the year by Glidden is classic elegance. It's the color of the forest and that should be popular with our friends here in Salem Oregon! Pair Night Watch with beautifully stained woodwork in a den, office, man cave or living room. It would make a great accent wall for a master bedroom. Be creative! You could even use it for your outdoor living space.

Pineapple Cream
This paint color may create a hunger for something tropical! Ace Hardware has selected Pineapple Cream for their specialty paint. Once again, it's neutral but on the softer side. It's actually a great color to use alongside Night Watch! Use this creamy color in a bathroom remodel and add a pop by hanging red, purple, or bright green towels. It would make a great background to a beach themed room as well.

Blueprint
Blue is always a welcomed color. Behr's Blueprint is a great choice for a feature wall, trim, or furniture. The muted tone gives it a calming, casual quality. It has great versatility to be used with modern tastes as well as the ever-popular county farm look. Try Blueprint as an accent color in the back of a white bookshelf!

Cavern Clay
Southwest decor lovers will flock to Cavern Clay. It's natural, organic, and outdoorsy. While this color could be used in any room, consider it for exterior house paint too. Make it your feature pop of color against a soft white or put it in the background along with other vibrant colors. Think creatively, it might even make a good color for a painted floor!

Berry Highlight
We can't let this occasion go by without choosing our own color too! So, without further ado, 3Rs Construction & Remodeling would like to announce that our color of the year is Berry Highlight. We chose this color as our accent color for our updated website and we think it’s fabulous! We named it for the delicious berries grown here in the Willamette Valley. It's red with a hint of cranberry to make it fun enough to use as a highlight color. How about your front door?!
