National Fire Prevention Week

Protect Your Home From Fire Damage with 3Rs Construction & Remodeling
It's Fire Prevention Week October 8-14! This year the National Fire Protection Association is focusing on helping you plan two ways out during a home fire disaster. The NFPA says on their site,
"In a fire, seconds count. Seconds can mean the difference between residents of our community escaping safely from a fire or having their lives end in tragedy."
3Rs Construction has a few simple tips to keep your home safe:
- Install smoke alarms throughout your home and check them regularly
- Keep a fire extinguisher in your kitchen
- Keep heaters and candles away from combustible decor
- Never leave candles burning at night or when you are away
- Be prepared with a family escape plan
Sad to say, unexpected disasters do happen. According to the NFPA, fire is often caused by appliances and equipment, electrical, fireworks, smoking, and more. It's important to practice good home maintenance to reduce the risk of fire.
If a fire has affected your home, most likely water damage is a problem too. Find a trusted contractor like 3Rs Construction & Remodeing to help you work through the details of restoration. Make sure you choose someone with a valid contractors licence and has a good reputation. We think you'll find 3Rs to take good care of you through each step of repair and remodel. If you need help installing or replacing smoke alarms, repairing electrical problems, or adding a new fire exit, please contact us!
We'd like to thank the National Fire Protection Association for making great videos featuring Sparky the Fire Dog. They are a great tool to help you teach your family about fire safety. Here's the Fire Prevention Week video for 2017.
Every year there are thousands of injuries and deaths due to preventable fires. Each year in the United States, more than 400,000 residential fires account for approximately 3,600 deaths and 18,600 injuries.
